A sheva berachos is a warm, joyful gathering — family and close friends coming together to celebrate a new couple during their first week of marriage. The atmosphere is intimate, the mood is festive, and everyone wants to see the chasan and kallah happy and glowing.
Entertainment at a sheva berachos has one job above all others: keep the energy up, keep everyone laughing, and make the couple feel like the most celebrated people in the room. Here's how I approach it.
The Chasan and Kallah at the Center
Everything I do at a sheva berachos is built around the couple. I design moments specifically for them — bringing them up together, creating something impossible that happens through both of them, making it feel like the magic exists because of their connection. By the end, the whole room has watched something extraordinary happen to and through the two people everyone came to celebrate.
This isn't just entertainment. It's a way of honoring them publicly, in front of their families — something that lands differently than a speech or a song. The chasan and kallah become the stars of a genuinely baffling, genuinely funny, genuinely memorable moment.
And their families? I bring them in too. Parents, siblings, grandparents — the people who matter most to the couple become part of the show. By the time the evening is over, both sides of the family have laughed together and been amazed together, which is exactly what a sheva berachos is supposed to do.
Keeping Everyone Engaged — All Ages, the Whole Evening
Sheva berachos crowds are wonderfully mixed. You might have the zeide in the corner, the couple's young nieces and nephews running around, college-age friends of the chasan, and the mothers of both sides trying to get to know each other. Keeping all of them genuinely entertained at the same time is the challenge — and it's one I genuinely enjoy.
I start with close-up magic during the mingling. Small children see something happen right in their hands — a ball multiplies, a ring passes through a string — and their delight is contagious. The adults around them get pulled in. Tables that were having separate conversations suddenly come together around a shared moment of amazement.
As the evening progresses and everyone is seated, the energy shifts into the stage portion. This is where the humor builds, where the crowd participates together, where the couple's moment happens. The laughs are real, the amazement is genuine, and nobody checks their phone.
"WOW!!!! Yishai!! You are awesome! What a show! Totally amazing! Continue to inspire, amaze and make people happy!"

Why This Format Works for Sheva Berachos Specifically
Unlike a large wedding hall, a sheva berachos is usually an intimate setting — a home, a small hall, a garden. That intimacy is actually a gift for entertainment. The magic happens closer. The reactions are louder because the room is smaller. The couple can see every face in the room light up at once.
There's also no need to compete with a band or a DJ. The entertainment is the event, not a backdrop to something else. That means I can take the audience on a full journey — from laughter to genuine astonishment — in a way that's harder to achieve in a louder, bigger setting.
"Your presentation brought immense joy and truly elevated our event!"
— C. Landsman, Sheva Berachos, Ramat Shlomo
Practical Details
How long is the show? Typically 45–60 minutes, or a combination of 30–45 minutes close-up during mingling followed by a 30-minute stage show. I work with you on the timing to fit the evening's program.
How much space do I need? Very little. A living room, a dining area, or any space where guests can gather. I work with whatever you have.
Hebrew and English? Always. Most sheva berachos crowds in Israel are bilingual, and I switch naturally throughout the show.
לפרטים: yishai.show | 054-848-2245
